Good morning friends! I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday. Today I wanted to share with you how we do church while on the road. There are many times we stay somewhere long enough to search out a church, but we have found that we are not very likely to do that. It seems like by the time we are comfortable with an area enough to make that step we are close to leaving. In the last year, I have really been pulled to have a more consistent worship or learning time about my faith. For many years I wasn’t consistent and then after we started to travel it was easy for “traveling” to be the reason we didn’t go to church on Sunday. I 100% believe that going to church on Sunday isn’t everything or even something you have to do to be right with the Lord, but I have found for myself (a sinner) it is a great way to end a week. Church is that constant in life to keep me on the right track. So how do we find a church home while we are on the road?
We go to church online.
At first, “going” to church online was weird. In fact, I listened to a whole series in a week because I was using the archives as more of a daily devotion or daily learning than I was a weekly sermon. I first came across Elevation Church after stalking one of my favorite bloggers old post. My girl over at Prairie Californian doesn’t even know that she changed my life (and my walk). Being able to “attend” church whenever I want has taught me so much, because I search out the Lords word. I don’t just routinely go to church.
I’m not perfect.
I have missed a many Sunday’s of Elevation Church. I have. I have also gotten off track. I have also binge watched series like some people get addicted to old TV shows on Netflix. Whenever I’m ready though or whenever I need the word in my life I have a place to go. I have an outlet that keeps me on track and has changed the way I will search out the word, probably forever. In a ever changing living environment and schedule (for you maybe it is a Sunday morning obligation for work) I have found it a huge blessing to use technology as an aide to building my faith. Oh, and the pastor. He is amazing. I have never listened to a more enthusiastic preacher in my life. He is relevant and raw. He will talk about the things you need to hear and he won’t leave you guessing how bible time stories go with your life now. I have never understood the bible and the Lords word more than when I listen to Pastor Steven.
Will you come to church with me?
I hope that if you have been struggling with finding a church home on the road or in your busy life this will help. I would love for you to check out Elevation Church regardless. What they are doing is amazing and I think you will love it. Some of my favorite series are Meant to Be, Moodswingers , Stretch Marks and Surround. I hope if you are looking for a church, you will come to church with me. I’ll be somewhere, watching too.
Tools for online church
When we first started watching Elevation Church we watched on our phones or the iPad if we were watching together. Now we watch on the living room TV if we are home. I found this cable on amazon for our iPad 2 to connect using a HDMI cord. I’m not to savvy with this type of thing, but if you have a different device and need help researching I would be happy to help. All the old series are available on their website for free. They are accessible anytime with an internet connection. If you need WiFi I would suggest the local library or a quiet coffee shop.
I would love to say a little prayer for you. Write me, tag me in a picture, or tweet me. If you have any questions please feel free to ask me either in the comments below or by private message on my Facebook page. If you try Elevation Church please let me know. I would love to hear from you. Big hugs.
PS – Today, would have been a day we missed church. Austin had to work today and I wouldn’t have gone alone. I can almost guarantee you he will watch on his phone while waiting to make a weld. As for me, I’m in the camper and as soon as I post this I’m headed over to watch church.
