If you are new here I am so glad that you found our little place. If you are back, I hope this means I will see you again and again… and again. Promise? Yesterday I really started to think about re-doing some of the things in our camper. I do not think we are at a full renovation stage, but just some re-arranging and decorating is in the near future. After living in our new 5er (fifth wheel) for over a year now, I am ready for a few changes around here.
One of the fastest and easiest ways to make your traveling home more like home is pictures. Back in December, I redeemed a couple canvas I had previously purchased (on sale) from what is now one of my fav canvas online spot. I love the fact that I can purchase these when different sizes go on sale and then bank them until I decide which pictures I want to print. Neat, huh? I ended up printing a couple of our wedding, engagement, and Instagram pictures. Eventually, I will add more of a variety to our RV, but for now I’m enjoying being surrounded and reminded of our love and our puppy, Paisley.
I used four command picture hanging strips for each canvas. I use command everything in our camper, because they peel off and leave the wall clean. I originally thought I would have to take down the pictures during travel, but you don’t! All of our canvases made the trip from Oklahoma to Colorado with no problem. They also withstand the spin cycle shake. That’s important.
I love the idea of printing on canvas for the RV because it is light and I do not have to but extra frames or deal with broken glass. I love canvas. Oh, and guns. Everybody has a rifle in their camper (right by the dining table), right? Please tell me this is normal.
A few other things I have done to add a little life to the place is a magazine tray, menu board, and my beloved KitchenAid mixer. I love this mixer. It is not a great space saver, but after getting it for a wedding gift and leaving it at home for a year I finally decided I could give up the counter space to have it. It makes me happy. It makes life easier.
I want to see how you have made your RV like home. Do you have future plans for an RV renovation? Lets chat in the comment section below. I hope you enjoyed these ideas and it has inspired you to add a little life to your home on wheels.
